I just installed a new hard drive on my MacBook Pro, an SSD drive. I then installed Mac OS X High Sierra. I had been using Photoshop Elements 10 (Editor only version) prior to this upgrade. When I try to start Elements 10, it won't start. A pop-up comes up stating that Elements cannot continue d.
Adobe has discovered the compatibility issues listed below with running Photoshop with macOS 10.12 (Sierra).
- If an Elements instruction 'calls' a given Mac or Win procedure and that procedure is changed or missing in an update of Mac or Win, that won't work. Bottom line: don't expect Elements 2018 to be fully compatible with an OS version using new procedures unknown to Elements programmers by the time 2018 was issued.
- Note: When you upgrade to the latest version of macOS 10.13.4 or launch a Creative Cloud application for the first time on the latest versions of macOS High Sierra, you may see a warning message that indicates Adobe software needs to be optimized for better performance.
Adobe strongly recommends that customers update Photoshop 2017 prior to updating to macOS 10.12 (Sierra).
Older versions of Photoshop were not designed, nor extensively tested to run on macOS Sierra. We strongly recommend that customers do their own testing on a non-production partition to ensure that new operating systems work with their current hardware and drivers (printing, etc). You may wish to remain on an older version of the OS that is compatible with prior versions of our software.
If you do encounter issues not already documented, feel free to report them on our feedback site.

Printing in macOS Sierra crashes while printing to some printers and devices
Photoshop would crash while printing on macOS Sierra 10.12.
Solutions:
- Update to macOS 10.12.1
- Update to Photoshop CC 2017
For some printers, ensuring your printer driver is up-to-date will fix stability issues. Note: Just updating the driver may not work. You need to delete the driver, delete the printer, install the latest driver then install the printer. See this document from Apple on troubleshooting printing on OS X: Resolve Printer issues on your Mac.
The Cmd+Space keyboard shortcut in macOS Sierra launches both Siri and the Zoom In tool
User Interface redraw issue when dragging the scroll bars in dialogs and panels
Solution: Update to Photoshop CC 2017
Workaround: For prior version of Photoshop, hover over the scrollable area and use the mousewheel or trackpad gesture to scroll the panel instead of clicking on the scroll bar and dragging it up and down.
Preview in browser doesn't work from Save For Web
Workaround: Save your images and/or HTML from Save for Web and open them from the Finder in the browser of your choice.
Our engineers are working on a complete solution for a future update of Photoshop CC.
